People always have these ideations when you mention Italy. While some often think about the Colosseum, some imagine the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Republic of Venice. Its rich history still goes back several centuries ago. In short, there are still a lot of places worth visiting in the country that is not filled with all these tourists.

If you are a fan of history, for sure this place will capture your attention such as their Roman baths. To get away from the busy city of Florence, this place will surely make the perfect day trip choice.

If you are interested in checking out the fuss surrounding the Republic of Venice, there is one place that you can visit. To get a glimpse of modern Republic of Venice, make sure to check out Carnivale. The city may be packed up, however, if you will come to it during the summer days. And yet, you can do and visit another place that would still let you appreciate Venice origins. Torcello is the place to be. It has more or less 20,000 inhabitants and it is the place where the Republic of Venice started. Presently, the place has become an island of peace and quiet. Its cathedral originated from the Byzantine-Italian period in 639 AD.

During the early years of Rome, they had a rival in civilization, and that is Veii. You can check Bronze Age origins rooting from its settlement as an Etruscan city-state. In 396 BC, however, the Romans decided to wipe Veii out. If you want to get a glimpse of its ruins, make sure to look at the Veio Regional Natural Park. You can also check out Porta Ponte Sodo and the Tomb of the Ducks dating back from 5th and 7th century BC, respectively. There are also sections of ancient walls that still stand.
